Two can work more than twice as efficiently as one. Especially when there are ladders involved. And well, it’s at least twice as fun, as I suspect most things are with two people. That’s not to say that a solo project isn’t rewarding. But in my case, even if I am doing ninety-X% of the physical labour, it’s Rich who holds ninety-X% of the knowledge. The building process is composed of hundreds, if not thousands, of decisions that need to be made from some base knowledge. I’ve worn a path down to his building site, walking over to ask Rich questions.
So though, I’m building a cabin with my own two hands, it’s not technically a solo project as I’m also borrowing Rich’s brain (and his truck). I guess that I could read the cabin-building books that I’d bought. Or find a good signal for my iPhone and research the information. But hard to beat good old-fashioned human interaction. And I have yet to find an app that will get my iPhone to carry the other end of an 18’ beam up a 12’ stepladder for me.
